Twice a year, Bristol Motor Speedway assumes it’s rightful identity as “World’s Fastest Half-Mile.”

But for two winter months, it becomes the Tri-Cities’ most memorable assemblage of illumination. With more than 2 million lights and 200 animated displays, Speedway in Lights is enough to make Clark Griswold stare in awe.

You’ll see illuminated snowmen, dinosaurs, pirate ships, nutcrackers, the 12 days of Christmas, and meet Saint Nick himself in the infield. And for the last part of the tour, you’ll even get to drive on Bristol’s famous high-banked pavement.

But the best part of the story is: all proceeds go to benefit underprivileged children in the Tri-Cities area. And that, in itself, is worth the trip.

Speedway in Lights ends January 2, so see it while you can!
